Frequently Asked Questions
How does Origin Path use Apple Health?
Origin Path reads six data types from Apple Health — sleep analysis, step count, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), workouts, and (on iOS 17+) alcoholic beverages — to automatically fill in your daily log.
The app never writes to Apple Health and never requests write permissions. You can disable any individual source in More → Health Settings.
How do I disconnect Apple Health?
Two options:
- Disable specific sources: Go to More → Health Settings and toggle off whichever types you want to stop syncing. The app continues working with manual entry.
- Revoke all HealthKit access: Go to iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Origin Path → Turn Off All.
Where is my data stored?
All your data is stored in your personal iCloud account (iCloud.com.baby-plan.app.BabyPlan). It is never sent to our servers — we don't have any. Your data is accessible only via your Apple ID.
How do I sync across my iPhone and iPad?
Origin Path syncs automatically through iCloud. Make sure both devices are signed into the same Apple ID and have iCloud Drive enabled. Changes on one device typically appear on the other within a few seconds when both are online.
How do I delete all my data?
To remove everything:
- Delete the app from your device to remove locally cached data.
- Remove iCloud data: iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Origin Path → Delete Data.
This permanently removes all synced data from iCloud.
The app shows "No Plan Synced Yet" — what do I do?
This means the app hasn't received plan data from the Mac pipeline yet. The daily plan is generated on your Mac and synced to the app via iCloud. Make sure:
- The Mac pipeline has been run at least once (
make ios-sync). - iCloud Drive is enabled on both your Mac and iPhone.
- The app has a moment to download files — open the Plan tab and wait a few seconds on a good connection.
What iOS version is required?
Origin Path requires iOS 17 or later. Alcoholic beverage tracking from Apple Health requires iOS 17. All other features work on iOS 17+.
Is there a macOS version?
Not yet — macOS support is planned for a future release. The data pipeline that generates your daily plan runs on macOS today (via the companion Python tool), but the app itself is iPhone-only for the initial release.
